    Left this on the survey, but thought I’d put it out here as well to see what other people think…

    I am finding that in this age of social media, more people are finding vendors through directories and 3rd party review sites than the old-fashioned “free report” lead gen formula.

    Have you given any thought to putting out niche-specific directory/review sites? Different business model than the lead gen, but I think there could be a lot of value there.

      Two quick things…

      1) I love your idea. In fact, we are doing research on that exact model now. Details to follow.

      2) The “free report/book” is something that will ALWAYS be a great way to generate leads. For the main reason is it builds tremendous credibility. Especially the way our reports are written. Another reason is because all of our client’s competitors are not doing it. At least no the way we are. Sending/handing out a printed report/book is a credibility tool that simply is tough to compete with!

      Don’t get me wrong. Referrals and online review sites are a huge lead-gen resource as well. And will continue to grow. But using a free report/book just adds to their marketing assets.
