QR Codes

QR Code | 5 | by MCPLR

Maybe you haven’t heard the term “QR Code” yet but you’ve certainly seen them!  They are popping up everywhere.

The “QR” stands for Quick Response.  And these little buggers are all the rage right now.  At least here in the USA.  They’ve been in Japan since the ’90’s.  Sometimes were a little slower here in the US. 🙂

In short, QR Codes are simple square bar codes that can re-direct to several different things like websites, Contact eCards, SMS text, an email address among other things. (You can check out this short QR Code article at LegalZoom.com for more details.)

They work by using an app on your Smart Phone that scans the image and immediately takes the user to their destination.

The cool thing is that the image can be re-sized to fit anything.  All the way from a postcard to a huge billboard!

I think its fair to say that QR Codes are here to stay as they are already proving themselves to be  a very important part of a company’s marketing mix.

Did you by chance scan the QR Code above? If so, it would have taken you to our membership site at LeadGenSiteProfits.com.  How cool is that?  QR Codes rock and will blow your clients away.

ANNOUNCEMENT!  In the next 2-3 weeks we will be releasing our next Consultant Credibility Package.  And yes it will be on QR Codes and how small businesses should be using them.  We will also offer a FREE QR Code generation software as part of this package!!  So stay tuned for the announcement…

In the meantime, I’d love your feedback!  Do you currently use QR Codes?  If so, how are they working for you?  If not, why?

Leave your thoughts, ideas and comments below…

    Drew,
very timely material… how about using a browser redirect for when my mobile device actually scanned the code.. That is the biggest disconnect i have see so far in most uses of QR Codes or as Roger Matus from nelly moser calls them ‘action codes’.

    keep rockin

    Hi Drew,
Timing is spot on for sure. Personally, we just turned on a client to QR code use for email marketing list sign-ups. They are the largest health club in several counties and are using CTCT for their email marketing. During a meeting yesterday we covered the month’s marketing efforts, email stats and their new T2J (Text to Join), feature we set up. When we were done I put a QR code on my laptop screen, reminded them of the prevalence of smartphones, handed them mine and said: “here, shoot that”. The GM shot the QR code on my screen and it took him directly to their custom email signup page. – He and the athletic director loved it! We’re moving ahead on a co-promotional effort of the new T2J & QR-Code use. Sweet, low-cost & high return.. . I’ve purchased from you in the past and look forward to seeing what this product brings!
    Stay well,
    JoeO.

PS: the website I listed here is one of yours!

QR codes have gone mainstream. Savvy business owners are using them and their popularity is growing at a rapid pace. I wasn’t sure how widely and quickly they would be adopted, but there is no question they are here to stay. Now it’s a matter of how creative you can get to make the most of your marketing efforts.

Drew- can’t wait for the package. Many of my potential clients are considering QR codes but need a little “incentive” to take that step. Hopefully, the package will over deliver like your others.
