There is one crucial secret to all of this – that I will explain to you one on this page. This secret has changed people’s lives in a matter of a couple weeks and it can potentially do the same for you. However, as is life, nothing is guaranteed. You have to work for it.
Before I tell you the secret we need to talk about why you’re in the position you are right now.
Let’s be honest. If you were in a better position you probably wouldn’t be reading this. And that’s okay!
I’ve been there. Struggling. Trying to find your way. Knowing you can succeed but pissed off that it hasn’t happened yet.
There’s nothing to be embarrassed about. Every successful person that I know has gone through the same struggles you’re going through now. Every. Single. One.

If you don’t know me let me introduce myself. My name is Drew Laughlin and I am a Strategic Marketing & Results Coach. In addition to working with clients and helping them build successful businesses, I am create online products training programs that consultants can use to help grow their business.
With that in mind, over the last several years, I have built a customer database of several thousand people that I love serving and helping. It also allows me the luxury of and surveying and talking to these customers.
Why is that important?
Because it gives me the inside scoop of what is actually going on with my customers so I don’t have to guess what challenges they are facing or why they are struggling.
Why do I tell you all this?
Because it allows me to keep my finger on the pulse of what is going on with them and how I can best help them.
In a nutshell, that is the exactly what this web page is all about.
I have surveyed my customers numerous times over the last couple of years to better understand exactly what is going on in their world and to find out the real reasons why they are not earning six-figures yet.
I would love to share the results with you now. But even better, I’m going to share with you what you can do to overcome these pitfalls once-and-for-all.

Reason #1: Lack of Focus
Typically, this happens because you are too good at too many things! You want to be everything to everybody. Its tough to make the decision to specialize because you don’t want to risk losing out when you know you can help people.
I know it sounds counter-intuitive, but you should be doing the opposite. You can’t be all things to all people. What you can do is specialize in one thing. and become the absolute top expert and authority in that one thing.
That way when people need help in that ONE area, they can’t help but to think of you. Again, I know this may be difficult to do because It flies in the face of conventional wisdom and what we think we should be doing.
Think of it this way, did Tony Robbins, Gary Vanerchuk and Warren Buffet spread themselves out all over the place when they started trying to be all things to all people? Of course not.
You can argue that they grew into other areas… and you’d be correct. But they all started off with a single focus and became the best in the world at it.
And you can do the same thing!
Focus on being the best at one thing. A singular result and outcome you can give your clients and then, after you have mastered that, you can start moving into your next great thing.
The first thing to do is decide on that one thing. What’s the best result you can provide to your clients? Focus on that and become the go to expert.
Reason #2: Overwhelm
This is usually caused by lack of focus and happens because you’re not sure what to do. Or when you feel you have to much to do – because you’re spreading yourself too thin. Both of these painful conditions lead to overwhelm.
A great strategy to help with overwhelm, in addition to overcoming #1 above, (something I use every day) is called “MDAs or Must-Do Activities”.
An MDA is when you take one thing that you need to accomplish, your most important activity, and do it first thing in the morning and do NOT stop until it is complete.
Using MDAs has changed my business more than pretty much anything else I have tried (and I have tested a ton of strategies). It keeps me focused and theses days I can accomplish a whole lot more.
Forget multi-tasking! It’s been proven in study after study NOT to work. I guarantee, if you stop doing it, you’ll be able to get way more done every day.
The way to start your new, positive MDA habit is to list out the things you know you have to get done. The things that really matter.
Hint: checking email is NOT one of them 🙂
Then prioritize your list. Put the number one item on your calendar and label it, “MDA: name of task goes here“. When you start on it don’t stop until it’s finished!
Reason #3: Shiny Object Syndrome
In the beginning, this was one of my biggest personal challenges. For me, I was always thinking that “the answer” must be out there somewhere and that I’d miss out if I didn’t buy the latest, greatest thing.
When I asked my customers, this was also one of their biggest challenges. Maybe it is for you too?
What causes Shiny-Object Syndrome is when you always think you need to know more. That you don’t already know enough. Or that you’ll miss out on that one thing that will turn it all around for you.
So you buy, buy, buy without ever focusing on one thing and actually taking action on it.
Allow me to let you in on a little secret…
You already know enough! You don’t need any more new, shiny things. Have confidence in yourself or find a coach or mentor who can help you build your confidence.
Believe you’re good at what you do. It’s time to stop chasing your dreams and start making them come true!
Let’s try something different. My personal challenge to you. I challenge you to stop chasing new, shiny objects and just focus on what you already know for the next month. Make a commitment to yourself to not buy anything new just because it’s there and they promise it will be the answer to all your problems.
Instead, if you find yourself having the urge to buy just ask yourself, “Is this something I must have? Is this something that will truly help my business or is it simply a new, shiny object?”
By doing that, you’ll at least be able to make better decision instead of buying on impulse.
Reason #4: No Clients/Not Enough Clients
Usually this is caused by a combination of the first 3!
Think about it…
How can you attract clients when you’re not focused and you’re trying to be all things to all people? Or you’re so overwhelmed that you don’t know if you’re coming or going? Or you’re not willing to put yourself out there because you think you need to know more so you keep chasing the next big thing?
Makes sense right?
But it can also be because you don’t have a proven system or methodology to follow to get clients on a consistent basis.
Imagine for a second…
You have overcome the first three obstacles and NOW you have a proven system of generating clients… How would that change your business? How much money do you think you’d be able to make?
Sounds nice doesn’t it?
But there’s one thing we haven’t talked about yet. And that is, there are so many systems out there, so which one should you use?
Great question.
The best answer is… to find the right fit for YOU. Meaning one that fits your personality and sales style. (Yes I said sales style. We are ALL in sales.That is what we all do when we SELL our services.)
Some people don’t mind cold calling. Others can’t stand it. For some, they love networking and going to meetings. Others prefer not to. Some, love direct mail. Others don’t .
What if I told you that there is a proven client generating system out there that doesn’t cost you anything and someone else does all the heavy lifting for you?

Reason #5: No Credibility or Authority
Typically this is caused because of a lack of belief in your ability to get the client results. You don’t think you have what it takes. Or you think to yourself, “Why should anyone listen to me?”
Most of the time it’s a simple mindset issue.
But sometimes it’s difficult when you’re just starting out because you don’t have case studies or testimonials. And you think you need to have that before anyone will listen to you.
Nothing could be further from the truth!
We discussed earlier that you already know enough. You don’t need a list of previous customers or case studies. Sure that will help you down the road. But you do NOT need that if you don’t have them already.
Please, don’t let that stop you.
If you can offer a positive result and outcome to someone’s problem, then all you need to do is show them how.
So, how do you actually prove you can help them without case studies and testimonials?
With Positioning!
Ok Drew. So how do I do that?
Well, there are many ways. But the best way is by educating your audience with free, valuable content that helps them solve their problems.
You can do that with articles, reports, videos even podcasts. Unfortunately, many of those take a lot of time to create and then you’re never sure if/when your audience will see it.
Don’t get me wrong. I’m not saying you should not be doing those things. In fact, you should.
